There shall be five types of membership open to any breeder, owner, and/or fancier of the Alaskan Klee Kai breed who subscribes to the purposes and objectives of the Association as written in the Association Constitution and Bylaws, and who is in good standing with U.K.C.

General Information ( C&BL Article 1 ) about joining UAKKA:
Each applicant for membership in the Association shall apply on a board-approved Application for Membership for which shall provide that the applicant agrees to abide by the Association’s Constitution and Bylaws, and the rules and regulations of the United Kennel Club. The completed application shall be submitted to the Membership Secretary along with dues payment for the current year (see below for membership type and dues) and the initiation fee ($15.00).
Each application shall be endorsed by two Association members in good standing and who are not members of the same household.
The name and address (city and state of residence) of the applicant(s) and their sponsors’ names will be published and the members of the Association are given sixty (60) days to comment on the application. The comments are sent to the Membership Secretary. After that period, the Membership Secretary submits a summary of any comments to the Board of Directors, and the Board elects or rejects the application. If the application is rejected, the sponsor of that applicant may personally present the application at the next meeting of the Association for consideration and election by the general membership.
Types of membership.
Individual membership. [ $25.00/year ] – Open to members 18 years of age or older. Individual members are entitled to one vote and are eligible to hold office in the Association.
Charter membership. [ $20.00/year ] – Individual members who joined the Association on or before September 30, 2001, shall be entitled to the designation “Charter Member.”
Family/Household membership. [ $40.00/year ] – Open to any two members of a household 18 years of age or older. Each Family/Household membership is entitled to two votes but only one member may hold office at any one time.
Honorary membership. The Board of Directors may elect to honorary membership any member in good standing or any non-member who meets the eligibility requirements for membership. An affirmative vote of 2/3 of the Directors present at a meeting of the Board, or 2/3 of the entire Board voting by mail shall be required to elect an honorary member. Honorary members shall be exempt from dues. No honorary members may vote unless he/she was a member in good standing of the Association at the time he/she was elected to honorary membership.
Junior membership. [ $5.00/year ] – Junior membership is open to any individual who is eight (8) to seventeen (17) years of age. Juniors may convert to Regular membership upon reaching their 18th birthday. Junior members shall not be entitled to vote nor eligible to hold office, but shall be eligible for annual trophies or awards offered by or through the Association.
