It's that time again! The UAKKA Specialty will be taking place on June 13th, 2009 during the Premier weekend in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Along with the usual classes we'll also have Novice Puppy, Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Veteran, Brace, Altered, and the Special Exhibition of Parade of Titleholders (POTH).

Entries for the specialty are DOS $25; NLC $5; PE $15 - $10 for a second entry same owner received by June 8, 2009. For Specialty Entries Only, please send pre-entries to Julie Baker at:
P.O. Box 6146
Garden Grove, CA. 92846

Remember, your entries for the Premier shows need to go through UKC, so entries will have to go to two separate places.

As for the Parade of Titleholders, this is an event for AKK owners whose dogs have earned any title (conformation, agility, obedience, weight pull, etc.) at any event. Each dog entered in the POTH is presented with a beautiful, colorful rosette which has the dog's name and title earned imprinted on it.

In order to participate in this event during the Specialty and collect the ribbon at that time, we do require a pre-entry submission. However you may participate in the parade and receive the Rosette in the mail a few weeks after the Specialty by doing a Day of Show Entry. Another option for those whose dogs are unable to attend, but would still like to receive the Rosette as recognition of their title can do so by contacting me at
kenairidge@sbcglobal.net.

Entry is $15 per dog and should be sent to the same address above with the complete registered name of the dog as well as the title he or she has earned. The deadline for entries who can expect to receive their Rosettes during the Specialty need to be received by May 24, 2009. If you have any questions about the POTH, please feel free to contact me.

On another note, for those of you who would like to donate items for the raffle, specialty trophies, or who may be interested in sponsoring a specialty trophy please contact me at
kenairidge@sbcglobal.net .

The UAKKA ANNUAL In Person MEETING WILL BE HELD 1 HOUR after the completion of the Alaskan Klee Kai showing on Saturday or 1/2 Hour after Group if this time frame interferes with Group Showing:  Location to Be Announced based on Weather at Premier.

For UAKKA Breeders, Rescue Members and or Individuals

UAKKA will be having a Introductory Membership.  A person may
sign a new AKK owner up for an introductory membership in UAKKA
if they place an AKK with someone.  This includes puppies that you
sell, dogs that you retire, rescues that you place, or even AKK
that you just give away.  We will still require the sponsors and
the 30 day announcement.  It will cost the Person purchasing
the membership $5.00 for each puppy or dog placed, up
to no more than $50.00 per purchasing party per year.
Since this is new, for 2009 only, you may nominate your
AKK owners that you have placed AKK with back to
January 1, 2009.
